What do you need for a supercomputer?

Well all you need is 2000 PS3's
The US airforce will use the supercomputer as defence system.
This way they can use it for:
“500 TeraFLOPS Heterogeneous Cluster, the massive collection of PS3s will be used to process everything from synthetic-aperture radar images to programs designed to mimic the human mind’s ability to recognize pictures.”
“Supercomputers used to be unique with unique processors. By taking advantage of a growing market, the gaming market, we are bringing the price performance to just $2 to $3 per gigaFLOPS,”

They are using the processing power of 2000 PS3's therefore making a supercomputer that can compute very very fast.

    Or something like that. :colbert:

On top of the processing power, think of the memory they could get off of all of them combined together.
All PS3 Slims have 120gb, so do the math...
    That's a lot
